Clickbank Ripoff

By Sandy Mertens

Beware of Clickbank

The sell that I had in Clickbank months ago was $11.77. I wouldn’t have known this if it wasn’t for the email which was sent to me from the person who I was an affiliate for. Clickbank never sent me an email stating that I had made a sell.

When I had first set up my Clickbank account, I thought that I had checked the $10 threshold. I waited for my money. And then I became busy with other things, so I had forgotten about Clickbank. A few months afterwards, I decided to check and see what the hold up was with my money and if I had more money in the account. I had not made any commissions and to my shock, there were a few deductions every two weeks of $1 out of my account. I went into my setting and seen that I had accidentally checked the $100 threshold. After reading the terms, after 90 days, $1 is taken out. This continues for every two weeks. I emailed Clickbank about the mistake that I had made and if they would be lenient and send me my money. I did not get a response back to me.

I just recently went into my Clickbank account. (Even though I have Clickbank products, there haven’t been any sales.) Guess what? Clickbank took $5 out of my account. Now I have 77 cents. It doesn’t state where they will continue to take money out and I will owe Clickbank money.

I just wrote an email to Clickbank about this issue. I will be surprise if I get an answer. They don’t have a phone number listed. If anyone knows what there phone number is email me at sandyswebnetwork@gmail.com

I feel that this is an injustice that Clickbank charges for you to keep your money in their account, which they are making interest on. Just because you need to reach a threshold on money that you earned. What do you think? Is Clickbank a big rip-off?

Thanks for the addresses.

Hello Sandy,

Thanks for bringing it up here. I'm new to Affiliate Marketing and I have an account with Clickbank as well. So I'll keep a tab on your Intel and check what other users have in mind regarding this issue.

Your so welcome. Make sure that your select the min. payout.

Sandy, thanks for writing this. I believe I will close my Clickbank account, since I've barely used it. Now if I can just remember if I have any current links and where they are, so I can remove them!

That is the hardest part to hunt down all of your links.

I hope you get a satisfactory resolution. I don't know if it's a rip off but I probably wouldn't bother doing business with them personally. I deal with LinkShare and Commission Junction and they don't do anything like that. Commissions are hard enough to come by, I wouldn't tolerate them taking some of it.

I have a Commission Junction account but I haven't used it in a long time. I might have to start over there. I haven't heard of LinkShare. Thanks. I will look into it.

Thanks for the warning, Sandy. I believe I opened a clickbank but have never used it. I hope that they haven't been charging me $1. per month. I'll have to close it. One has to be so careful! What a shame!

Laraine, they will only take the money out that you have there. If your account is $0, it will never go into the minus. I don't think any site should charge you when you are doing them a service.
